RB Leipzig secured their first Bundesliga win in three years after a dominant display against Borussia Dortmund at the Red Bull Arena on Sunday.

The hosts took control from the start, with Oliver Wagner setting up Max Kruse for the opening goal before Robert Lewandowski fired home to make it 2-0 in the second half.

However, Borussia Dortmund were unable to find a way back into the game as RB Leipzig hit back through goals from Marcel Sabitzer and Emil Forsberg.

Oliver Nagelsmann's side have now won four consecutive league games and remain top of the table going into the international break.

RB Leipzig manager Nagelsmann was delighted with his team's performance and praised the players' attitude towards each other.

"We had some good moments but we also made mistakes," he said. "But overall I'm very happy because we played really well today."

For Dortmund, it was a disappointing day as they failed to pick up any points for the first time since August.

Borussia Dortmund manager Lucien Favre admitted that his side did not perform to their usual standard.

"The result is a bit disappointing," he said. "We started strong and then we lost our composure.

"Today wasn't a great performance, but we'll take it step by step."
