Former Barcelona and Real Madrid player Moreno has joined Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua, the club announced on Monday.
Moreno, who played for both clubs during his career, is set to make his debut with the Shanghai team in the Chinese Super League.
The 35-year-old, who started his career at Barcelona, moved to Real Madrid in 2011 before returning to his home country after two seasons with the Spanish club.
He has won numerous titles throughout his career, including four La Liga titles and three UEFA Champions League titles with Barcelona.
In addition to his footballing achievements, Moreno is also known for his philanthropic work, having founded the Moreno Foundation which supports children's rights and education.
The former player will be hoping to bring his experience and expertise to the Shanghai team, as they look to challenge for honours this season.
The signing of Moreno marks another significant move in the ongoing development of the Chinese Super League, as it brings in one of Europe's most respected players to the league.
With its growing reputation and increasing popularity, the Chinese Super League is becoming increasingly competitive, and Moreno's arrival will only add to that competitiveness.
