Barcelona has once again proven that they are one of the most dominant teams in La Liga, as they emerged victorious against Girona at Camp Nou on Saturday evening.

The Catalan giants had to fight hard for the win, but their efforts were rewarded in the 65th minute when Lionel Messi scored his 40th goal of the season to put Barcelona ahead.

Despite their dominance, Girona refused to go down without a fight and they hit back just three minutes later through Cristian Stuani's stunning volley.

However, Barcelona refused to be beaten and they managed to hold on to their lead until the final whistle was blown, securing all three points in what was a thrilling match from start to finish.

For Bayern Munich, it was another successful day as they secured a comfortable victory over Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga. The German champions scored twice in the first half thanks to goals from Robert Lewandowski and Thiago Alcantara, before adding a third late on through Serge Gnabry.

Bayern now sit top of the league with 49 points from 17 games, with only four points separating them from the table-toppers, Borussia Dortmund.

In contrast, Girona remain in mid-table after their defeat, while Wolfsburg continue to struggle in the Bundesliga, having lost six of their last seven matches.
