Mbappé scores hat-trick as PSG clinches 5-0 win over Lyon

Kylian Mbappé scored a hat-trick as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured a 5-0 victory over Lyon on Saturday, extending their lead at the top of the Ligue 1 table.

The 22-year-old French forward was in sparkling form as he helped his team to their fifth straight win and maintain their unbeaten record in Ligue 1 this season.

Mbappé's hat-trick came in just under half an hour of the match, with the first coming after just six minutes when he beat the offside trap and slotted home from close range.

The second goal came two minutes later, as Mbappé showed great pace and skill to outpace his marker before slotting past the goalkeeper from inside the box.

And the third goal came moments later, as Mbappé finished off a neat one-two with his team-mate Angel Di Maria, who had set him up for the move.

It was Mbappé's sixth hat-trick of the season and his fourth consecutive hat-trick, meaning that he is now on course to reach 25 goals by the end of the campaign, which would be a remarkable achievement given his young age.

The win also saw PSG extend their lead at the top of the table to seven points, with only Monaco remaining as potential challengers for the title.
