Paris Saint-Germain secured their first win of the new season with a 2-1 victory over Rennes at Parc des Princes on Saturday. The French giants, who had been struggling for form this pre-season, looked well organized and clinical throughout the game.

The visitors started brightly but it was PSG who took the lead early on through a well-worked goal from Neymar. The Brazilian forward cut inside before firing a shot past the goalkeeper into the net. It was a deserved lead as PSG dominated the opening period and created several chances.

Rennes responded strongly and levelled the scoreline soon after, with a neat finish from substitute Moussa Dembele. However, PSG refused to back down and continued to dominate possession and create more chances. They eventually doubled their lead through another well-executed move, with Lionel Messi scoring his first goal of the campaign from close range.

The second half saw Rennes push hard for an equalizer but PSG held firm and sealed the three points with just minutes left on the clock. It's a good start for PSG and they will be hoping to continue their winning ways in the coming weeks.
