McDonald's has announced that it will become the official food partner for French football club, Ligue 1 in 2026.

The deal is part of McDonald's global partnership with Ligue 1 and will see the fast-food giant take over as the exclusive food sponsor for the league.

As well as providing fans with their favorite menu items, McDonald's will also have the opportunity to showcase its brand at events such as matches and training sessions.

"McDonald's is thrilled to announce our new partnership with Ligue 1," said McDonald's France CEO, Emmanuel de Rochemont. "We look forward to working closely with the league to deliver an exciting and memorable experience for fans across France and beyond."

The news comes after McDonald's had previously partnered with Ligue 1 in the past, but this latest deal marks a significant increase in sponsorship revenue for the fast-food chain.

According to McDonald's, the partnership will help to drive footfall into restaurants and drive sales growth.

"We're excited to be partnering with McDonald's once again on this important journey for Ligue 1," said Ligue 1 President Jean-Michel Aulas. "This agreement will help us continue to grow and innovate while delivering value to our fans and partners."
