Leicester City secured their first win in eight games as they defeated Aston Villa at the King Power Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Foxes, who had been struggling in the Premier League all season, took the lead through Jamie Vardy's penalty after only three minutes. The goal was controversial as the referee initially awarded a free-kick but changed his mind and awarded a penalty following VAR review.

Vardy's second goal came in the second half when he finished off a neat move with a shot from outside the box. The win means Leicester have now moved out of the relegation zone and are now just one point behind safety.

Aston Villa, meanwhile, were left frustrated by a lack of creativity up front and struggled to create any real chances throughout the game. They were also unable to break down a resolute Leicester defence, which has kept four clean sheets in its last five matches.

Despite the loss, Villa will be encouraged by their performance against a strong Leicester side. They will now look to bounce back in their next match against Everton at Villa Park.

Overall, it was another frustrating day for Aston Villa fans as they continue to struggle for form and consistency in the Premier League. However, there is still hope that they can turn things around and secure a place in the top flight this season.
